Rose is a young red dragon that's unable to change into her dragon form, but little is known about her. She was captured by the criminal society Fang and imprisoned in a case that is to be transported to Onyx, but she was taken from the Fang by Ryuji and Eriko (who thought she was a Lost Precious). She knows nothing but Ryūji's name, but soon picked up a few words.
Since she couldn't communicate nor knew her name, Ryūji gives her the name "Rose" because the dragon scales on the back of her left hand looked like a rose. Rose is aggressive towards nearly everyone, except Ryūji to whom she clings so much that she will sleep beside him in his bed.
She does love Ryūji deeply, but wonders if Ryūji care about her feelings. When Ryūji was younger, it was he who found Rose when she hatched.
Later, some of the dragons acknowledged Ryūji as Rose's fiancée due to the misunderstanding of the context of "Engage."
Onyx later came to get Rose himself with then intention of marrying her, but she is rescued by Ryuji and Eriko, who helps them defeat Onyx. At one point, Rose befriends Sapphie, who is Onyx's fiancée.
After Ryūji kisses her birthmark as part of the dragon's coming of age ritual, she becomes flustered and embarrassed around Ryūji, but still has uncertainty about her relationship with him. It is revealed that due to Ryūji being the corporeal form of the Lost Precious "Dragon Crisis," she becomes severely weakened with her life in danger.
She is handed over to Kai and Onyx in hopes that they will save her. However, it is soon discovered that it was all a ploy set up by Onyx to once again get Rose from Ryuji, having arranged the ritual to wipe her memories and then leave Japan with her so she will stay with Onyx permanently. Once the truth is revealed, Ryuji has one final showdown at the airport with Onyx and defeats him for good with Rose's help. Afterwards, the two officially develop a relationship as they return to school.
Abilities
Rose cannot change into her dragon form, but can sprout wings. She can also use fire magic.

Ryuji: She really loves him, having met him when she hatched from her egg.
Eriko: She was hostile towards her at first, but soon warmed up to her.
Ai: Their relationship is mostly neutral.
Onyx: He is in love with her, but she does not like him.
Sapphie: They became friends, which soon leads her to betray Onyx.
Muraga: She also has a neutral relationship with her.
Tokura: She is also good friends with him.
